Growing up in a small town in Alberta, Canada my parents empowered me with strong core values from an early age. By grounding down into my roots and having a strong unwavering sense of self, I was able to stand strong in that foundation to face adversity when life threw challenges my way. By embracing my wings, I knew I could accomplish any goal I set for myself by doing the work and staying optimistic throughout the journey.

As a multi-talented industry disruptor, I've made it my mission to share my inimitable perspective of fitness and health with the world. A lifelong athlete, entrepreneur, businesswoman, TEDx Presenter, published fitness writer, TV host, ambassador, media sensationalist, teacher, mother and survivor, there is no challenge or territory that I cannot tread.
A series of events have played significant and life altering roles in the trajectory of my business - JOGA. Before this chapter, I was a successful television host and advertising executive, but after the accident I decided to take the advice of my performance coach and try yoga breathing techniques as a rehabilitative technique. A Yogi was born, but not the traditional kind. Having always been somewhat of a ‘jock’,I morphed my Yoga training from Japan in a way that complimented my competitive athletic nature. Wanting to bridge the gap between sport and yoga, and help athletes excel at their sport, I developed a number of sport-specific programs. In 2010 JOGA, a unique blend of movements and breathing techniques was born. JOGA has been revolutionarily in helping all athletes strengthen their minds and bodies for optimum performance.
In 2021 I decided to start another movement, one that would give people tools to help connect them back to their authentic self, while offering strategies that would also provide people with hope and inspiration. In a world that feels so chaotic, how do we stay grounded but also how do we soar? I'm excited to share with you Roots & Wings.
My dad always said “The sun will come up tomorrow”, and remembering this is what has kept me going, looking for the positives. “It’s important to be mindful of the fact that, no matter what we go through today, the sun will rise tomorrow and we will get another chance, another opportunity to try again.”
The true significance of my creation would not be unveiled until a second near fatal accident in 2016 left me with a broken back and a long-term brain injury. Surviving this traumatic accident led me to learn more about recovery, and truly understand and appreciate the mental & physical strength that it takes to overcome severe adversity.
